Recreational Rowing

There is life without competitive rowing. Rowing just for the fun of it, or with maybe only a hint of competition, is being discovered by more and more people. Our recreational program keeps growing and growing. To join this program you must be at least 16 years old and have prior rowing experience, or have passed the "Learn to Row" program at Dons or another club. Recreational rowers meet four times each week. Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:00 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays at 9:00 a.m. Crews are set on a casual basis, in any combination that will work in eights, fours, doubles and singles.

Recreational members also have the opportunity to attend two or three regattas during the year. Some of the events our members have competed include our own Tops and Bottoms Regatta, Hogtown Heats, and several head races such as Head of the Trent and Head of the Thames.
