Learn to Row: Introduction for Adults
Do you want a new sport or new challenge? This program is geared towards people over 16 years of age who want to discover rowing, whether for fun & fitness or for the competitive nature of the sport. Rowing is a perfect sport for all ages as it is a low-impact aerobic activity. This program does not require any previous experience however it would serve as an excellent refresher for those who have some rowing background and wish to return to the sport. Using stable sculling boats the program will focus on learning basic rowing technique and safe boat-handling skills. Participants must attend an Orientation Session and then schedule 5 follow-on classes to suit their own timetable and desired rate of progression. Graduates may continue rowing by joining any of the club's membership programs. As a safety precaution participants must be able to swim unassisted.
Program Fee: $250. plus gst
Capacity: 8 in each session (80 total)

Upon completion of the Orientation Session each registrant will select 5 rowing sessions on the water that suit their schedule. Available times will be weeknight evenings from 6:30 – 8:30 pm and weekend mornings from 10:30 – 11:30 am. All sessions must be completed by September 30, 2008. Upon completion of the learn to row program, you may upgrade your membership to the recreational category for an additional $350 (+5% GST = $367.50).
