Adult Learn to Row (LTR) Programs
The Don Rowing Club of Mississauga (DRC) partners with the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario to raise research money through fitness activities. Rowing is a perfect example of a sport for all ages because it is a skilled, fun, low-impact aerobic activity.
This is an adult program so registrants must be at least 16 years old. This is also a water sport so registrants must be able to swim unassisted. Registrants in this particular program are encouraged to raise pledge money for the Heart & Stroke Foundation. That process is covered on the first day as part of the orientation.
Come with no experience or some experience! Bring your passion for learning. Bring your sense of humour and be prepared to laugh. This is a great group sport! The coaches will show you the way as a beginner, or add to your skills as a returning rower. Corporate groups interested in team building and fund raising? This is a perfect opportunity!
Over the 7 weeks we focus on individual skill development. The program culminates with the Row for Heart Regatta (and barbeque) on Sunday June 27th. This is a fun regatta amoung your Learn-to-Row peers to celebrate on and off water achievements for Row for Heart 2010.
SPECIAL OFFER - The Row for Heart registrate that raises the most money will WIN a Don Rowing Club Membership!
